Full Pyro DPS Build

Artifact

Set
  • 4x Crimson Witch

Diluc can constantly keep the 3 stacks of 4-piece Crimson Witch because of his Elemental Skill, totalling 37.5% Pyro DMG bonus.

Main Stats
  • Sands: ATK% / Elemental Mastery
  • Goblet: Pyro DMG Bonus
  • Circlet: Crit DMG / Crit Rate

If you can’t consistently proc melt or vaporize, just go for ATK% sands so you still get good damage without reactions.

Substats
  1. Crit Rate / Crit DMG
  2. ATK%
  3. Elemental Mastery / Energy Recharge

Weapon

  • 5★ Wolf’s Gravestone (ATK%)
  • 5★ Skyward Pride (Energy Recharge)
  • 4★ Serpent Spine (Crit Rate)
  • 4★ Blackcliff Slasher (Crit DMG)
  • 4★ Lithic Blade (ATK%)
  • 4★ Prototype Archaic (ATK%)

Serpent Spine is very powerful if you can keep the max stacks for +30% DMG at R1. We recommend running with a shielder when using it. Lithic Blade is also good if you have Liyue party members.

Talent Priority

  1. Normal Attack: Tempered Sword
  2. Elemental Skill: Searing Onslaught
  3. Elemental Burst: Dawn

Notes

  • With this build, all your Pyro attacks are boosted at the cost of your physical normal or charged attacks
  • To maximize this build, you will have to keep using elemental skill to get the full stacks of 4CW and your burst to keep your attacks Pyro-infused to get the super-boosted damage

Flexible DPS Build

This build offers more flexibility, boosting both normal attacks regardless of elemental infusion.

Artifact

Set
  • 4x Gladiator’s Finale

Diluc still mostly uses his Normal Attacks and as such, he can maximize the 4-piece Glad effect which increases his Normal Attacks by 35%, whether physical, Pyro-infused, or any elemental infusion.

Main Stats
  • Sands: ATK%
  • Goblet: Pyro DMG Bonus
  • Circlet: Crit DMG / Crit Rate
Substats
  1. Crit Rate / Crit DMG
  2. ATK%
  3. Elemental Mastery / Energy Recharge

Weapon

  • 5★ Wolf’s Gravestone (ATK%)
  • 5★ Skyward Pride (Energy Recharge)
  • 4★ Serpent Spine (Crit Rate)
  • 4★ Blackcliff Slasher (Crit DMG)
  • 4★ Lithic Blade (ATK%)
  • 4★ Prototype Archaic (ATK%)

Same recommendations as the full Pyro build: Serpent Spine is very powerful if you can keep the max stacks for +30% DMG at R1. We recommend running with a shielder when using it. Lithic Blade is also good if you have Liyue party members.

Talent Priority

  1. Normal Attack: Tempered Sword
  2. Elemental Skill: Searing Onslaught
  3. Elemental Burst: Dawn

Notes

  • As mentioned, your normal attacks will be boosted regardless of elemental infusion. Meaning, even if you have Chongyun in the team that turns Diluc’s attacks into Cryo, it will still apply the 35% increased damage!

Full Pyro vs Flexible Normal Attacks Build Comparison

To illustrate the max bonus damage you get from both artifact sets including the Sands artifact damage bonus:

Full PyroFull Pyro
(Max 4CW Stacks)
Flexible Build
Normal Attacks (Any Element)+0%+0%+35%
Charged Attacks (Any Element)+0%+0%+0%
Normal Attacks (Pyro)+61.6%+84.1%+81.6%
Charged Attacks (Pyro)+61.6%+84.1%+46.6%
Elemental Skill+61.6%+84.1%+46.6%
Elemental Burst+61.6%+84.1%+46.6%

The flexible build is beneficial for your normal attacks, boosting it by 35% damage on physical or any elemental infusion. For Pyro-infused normal attacks, it gives 20% higher damage compared to full pyro without 4CW stacks, and is only 2.5% lower versus max 4CW stacks. However, your elemental skill and burst damage would be 15% lower versus no 4CW stacks, and 37.5% lower if at max 4CW stacks.

Ultimately it’s your choice which build you want to go with. Diluc’s normal attacks are used most of the time with or without Pyro infusion, so also take that into consideration.
